Baptism is the door to all other Sacraments in our faith. Our Church welcomes you with open arms and prays that this is the beginning of a lifelong faith journey.
Misión San Francisco y Francis X Cabrini
(Infant to 6 Years of Age)
Requirements for Baptisms at Mission San Francisco:
All baptisms are held on Saturdays at 11:00 AM.
The first Saturday of the month is in English (at Mission Espada), the last Saturdays of the month are held at St. Frances X Cabrini Parish and are bilingual. The Saturdays in between are in Spanish (at Mission Espada). Baptism classes are provided the same day of the baptism. Parents, godparents, and the child must be present. The classes begin at 11:00 AM with baptisms to follow.
A parent needs to come by the office to register the child for baptism.
For non parishioners:
Please provide a Letter of Permission to Baptize from your local parish. The letter
must be signed and sealed by the parish.
These are the documents that we need:
the child's state birth certificate,
from the godparents:
baptism certificate, confirmation certificate, and if they are married - they must be
married through the Catholic Church and must have their marriage certificate as well.
Godparents can be one male and one female only, or only one godparent.
It is $50.00 for the use of the church and administration fee, cash or check only.
We must have the documents, fee, and the registration completed 2 weeks prior to the
baptism date. Please note that these dates are shared as there are no private baptisms at Mission Espada.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS SCHEDULE IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE. ADDITIONALLY, BE ADVISED THAT NO BAPTISMS WILL BE HELD DURING THE SEASON OF ADVENT OR THE SEASON OF LENT.
